Meet the Maker

A man with glasses examines a patterned knife in a dark room with a fire in the background.

SteelWater Blades is a one‑man shop built on a lifetime spent fishing lakes, rivers, and the coast. I’m Nicholas — the founder, designer, and maker behind every blade that leaves this workshop.

What started as an obsession with well‑made gear turned into a craft I couldn’t walk away from: shaping steel, refining edges, and building tools that feel alive in the hand.

Every blade begins as raw steel — 80CrV2 for mono‑steel work, and 80CrV2 paired with 15N20 for Damascus. I forge, grind, heat‑treat, and finish each knife myself. No outsourcing. No shortcuts. No mass production. Just a maker, a forge, and a commitment to building knives that earn their place in your kit.

My shop is intentionally small. I release limited batches so I can stay hands‑on with every detail: geometry, flex, balance, edge, and feel. If it doesn’t meet my standard, it doesn’t leave the bench.

SteelWater Blades is built on craftsmanship, reliability, and tools made for real anglers.
